:-D

Sunday - volleyball game
Monday - weight/cardio class
Tuesday - ran 4 miles
Wednesday - softball game
Thursday - volleyball game
Friday - ran 4.2 miles

I'm taking Saturday off!

15. Cook home meal(s) (45/143)

Friday night I made spaghetti and Malek made garlic bread.  Carb loading for our 5K on Saturday.

:-)

The Mardi Gras 5K was OK.  It was very windy and cold in the morning.  5 mins before the race started the sun came out...and THE HILL took it's toll on my race time.  I definitely didn't beat my time from last year, but at least I was under my 30min time limit.  Malek did well for his first 5K race (he beat me by 49 seconds).

#26 - Try a yoga class / tape

I finally tried out a yoga class!  I've never done yoga before and Amanda's neighborhood community center offers classes on Tuesday night.  So I figured why not?!  It was a great first yoga class!  All the stretching really helped my sore muscles from Monday's weight class.  Not sure I'll go every week, but I think once a month would be good.

Exercise for the week:
Sunday - Volleyball game
Monday- Cardio/Weight class
Tuesday - Yoga!!!
Wednesday
- Ran 4 miles, softball game
Thursday - * Planning to run 2 miles after work *, volleyball game
Friday - REST!
Saturday- Mardi Gras 5K race!  That's why I've been trying to fit in as much running as possible.  The Cap 10K is in March .

Needless to say I've been extremely sore all week!  :-P

#65 - Dinner at Truluck's!

I received a gift card to Truluck's for my birthday and figured what better time to celebrate at Truluck's then for Vday!  So Monday night Jonathan and I headed to Truluck's for a post valentines day dinner (We wanted to avoid the craziness on Valentines Day).  For the occasion I wore my awesome red dress that my dad gave me for Christmas - perfect!  We even made great time heading downtown, I guess due to Presidents day no one was at work.

Our dinner lasted about 3 hours and consisted of four courses and a bottle of wine:
Appetizer - Calamari
Soup - Crab and Corn Chowder
Entree - Malek had the pan-seared gulf red snapper.  I had the all you can eat Florida stone crab claws.  My meal also came with two sides: parmesan mashed potatoes and braised wild mushrooms.
Dessert - coffee/cappuccino's accompanied by the chocolate mud slide pie (or something with a similar name)

Excellent!

#15 - Cook home meal(s) (44/143)

For Valentines Day Malek prepared a wonderful dinner at home.

We started the night off with wine and several cheeses: extra sharp white cheddar, Gouda and feta cheese with pita bread.  Jonathan seasoned the steaks and potatoes and cooked them on the grill while I enjoyed the couch and cheeses.  :-)  I love my steak medium rare and he cooked it perfectly!  We enjoyed a nice candlelight dinner with music playing in the background.  Throughout the evening we watched a couple DVD's while sipping wine.  Even Sarah had a great evening, she got to lick the plates.

A very romantic low key evening at home.

Surprise!

Malek surprised me with a dozen red roses at work today.      What a great day!  I'm so excited, it's going to be a great weekend.

Red Heart  Happy Early Valentines!! Red Heart

My mom also sent me a care package that contained a valentine kitchen towel, sugar cookies and choc raspberry coffee.  It also contained a kitchen towel for St Patty's day and a cute platter for Easter.  Go mom!

#97 - Take Sarah to the dog park at least once a month (17/33)

Last night Sarah and I went to Old Settlers for Malek's football game.  I brought her favorite ball and gave her free reign on the neighboring field.  For the next hour we played ball and I chased her around.  Great exercise for the both of us!

Carnaval Brasileiro!

This past Saturday was Carnaval Brasileiro!  Ever since I heard of this carnival I've wanted to attend :  the costumes, the bold colors, the samba music, and reckless abandon!  It's an annual Brazilian style Mardi Gras celebration held in Austin, TX.   Definitely an experience I recommend everyone try at least once if you can.  We had a ball!
