Guinness - Gone but not forgotten

I have some very sad news about Guinness. Friday night while I was out, Guinness and Sarah escaped from the backyard. When I came home around 10pm they were nowhere to be found. Then a few minutes later I received a call from Animal Control. They had found Guinness. He had been hit by a car just outside my neighborhood and unfortunately didn't survive.    They did bring Guinness by the house so I could at least say goodbye to him. I still had not heard anything about Sarah. The next morning I was out searching the neighborhood trying to track her down. A friend of mine came over to help me and by 10am we finally found her. She was very happy to see me and very tired. I'm not sure she realizes that Guinness is not coming back.

I just wanted to let everyone know about the recent events and that Sarah is safe and sound at home. Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.

The Broken Chain -
"We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone;
for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side."

With the loss of Guinness, I'm removing a few of my 101 items in reference to him:
94. Work with Guinness on his SA
95. Buy a dog run for the backyard or put in a dog trolley

Updates

I realized I haven't posted a blog in a while so here's a few updates.

#97 - dog park (12/33)- I've been very good about going every Sunday to the dog park with my doggies.  Gotta take advantage of the weather!

#15 - home cooked meals (19/143).  FAILURE!  I've been keeping up on everything but the home cooked meals.  I did make a grilled cheese sandwich...does that count?  On Saturday I also made mac & cheese (on the stove).  Technically it is cooking if it's over the stove.

#25 -  Co-ed sports teams.  I accomplished this a while ago but figured I'd give an update.  I am now playing on 2 volleyball teams (Dell and my normal women's team)...plus I'm still playing softball on Wednesdays and possibly joining another softball team on Tuesdays.  It keeps me busy and in shape.

#44 - Work out at least 3x's a week [IP].  Still going strong!  Especially with all the sports I'm involved in currently.  I still try to go to the gym 2 x's a week during lunch...I either run or take my cardio step/weight class.

#45 - Keep weight under (private) lbs [IP] .  Whoo-hoo!  I'm actually 6 lbs under my normal weight.  I think its due to all the sports I'm playing and the dancing every weekend!

#65 - Eat out somewhere new [IP].  I finally tried the Boiling Pot downtown on 4/28/08.  I have always heard about this place but just never seemed to make it there to eat.  It was a little expensive but interesting.  The food was okay, had a nice variety, but I still prefer the crawfish from Sam's Boat (better seasoning/spice).   I'm not marking this off completely though because there are many restaurants that I'd like to try and have never been to....like Trulucks.

#71 - Wear more dresses / skirts (9/?).  Starting off the work week right!  I decided to wear one of my jean skirts today, mainly because it's about 98 degrees outside!

#71 - Wear more dresses / skirts (8/?)

I wore a skirt last Thursday to work and I also wore a dress this past Friday!  Friday was Monica's b-day party so we dressed up and headed downtown to celebrate.  I think we looked pretty darn good!

#87 - Run around Town Lake again on the weekend

I can't believe I missed writing about this on my 101 blog!  Since the weather has been nicer I have actually been dragging myself out of bed Sunday mornings and driving down to Town Lake to run the 3 mile loop.  I think I've run it now about 3 times.  Either way at least I picked it back up!  It might not be consistent but I am doing it.
