#76 - Go to a concert in town

Monday night (4/28) I saw My Chemical Romance with Billy Talent and Drive By at Stubbs downtown.  It was a great concert and the weather was perfect for the outside stage.  I really liked My Chemical Romance...granted I really only knew like 1 or 2 of their songs.

I also saw James Otto perform at Grahams on Thursday 4/24.  I only knew one of his songs as well but still had a great time dancing to his music.  I can't believe I actually made it out since I had volleyball right before the concert.  Luckily my friend Charles (he's got a connection at KASE 101) was able to get me a free ticket so I was able to get in for the show.  I ran into James Otto later as I was leaving Grahams and oh my goodness is he a tall/big guy!  He stands at 6'5" and could have been a football player!

#15 - Cook home meal(s) (17/143)

Last night I decided to make my pasta dish again.  It turned out so good the last time that I was still craving it!  I used all the same ingredients as last time except for green peppers (I didn't have any and didn't want to make yet another trip to HEB).  Now I have enough left overs for a week...but I can always eat pasta and this stuff is just so darn good I know I won't get tired of it.  My compliments to the chef!

#71 - Wear more dresses / skirts (6/?)

Almost forgot about this one!  Yesterday I wore my red skirt and a black top to work, I even had on cute red shoes to match.  I received many compliments on my attire.  LOVE IT!  I really should wear skirts more often.

#18 - Have a house warming party

Wow, what a busy week/end!  I spent all of last week cleaning, doing laundry, touch-up painting, lawn maintenance, bathed the dogs, etc....all to prepare my house for my friend Karen's arrival and my housewarming party.  I've known Karen since college, she's one of my best friends and I was so excited to see her (last time I saw her was a year ago).    I picked Karen up from the airport Friday morning around 9am and we headed back to the house to drop off her stuff.  From there we went out to lunch at Chuy's (a must when you come to TX) where we started the afternoon off right and had several margaritas.  Then we did a couple trips to HEB and the liquor store to get last min supplies for the Housewarming party that evening.  Thankfully I took care of all the cleaning and stuff ahead of time, all we had to do was stage the table with the food and do one more quick sweep of the floors.  We even had time to take a nap.  Around 6pm we headed to Rudy's for dinner, Karen had never been there before and you have to eat BBQ when you come to TX!  We ordered the awesome moist brisket and proceeded to indulge ourselves...the way we were ooohhhing and aaahhhing over the food you would have thought we were eating chocolate.    We arrived back at the house by 7pm and had everything ready to go in plenty of time.  The party was a great success!  I think around 30+ people showed up and the party went until 5am!  Heck we even jumped in the hot tub around 2am and stuffed it to capacity (it holds 6 max and there was at least 8 of us in the tub).  It was awesome and everyone had a great time.  Needless to say Karen and I didn't do much the next day...we pretty much slept the entire day away, only emerging around 6:30pm to see a movie.  We crashed around 10pm that night.  We were going to try and go out dancing, but our bodies just shut down on us.  We still had a great time and I was sad to see Karen leave Sunday morning.  But she'll be back for my 30th b-day in October!  I can't wait!  What a great weekend.

#14 - Meet my new neighbors (IP).  I met another neighbor at my housewarming party.  I had distributed some invitations around the neighborhood.  Figured what better way to meet more people!

#97 - Take dogs to the dog park (10/33).  I actually loaded the dogs in the car with me when I took Karen to the airport Sunday morning.  That way we could head straight to the dog park after dropping her off for her flight.  It was another nice day out, slightly cooler than the day before, but still a great day for a walk.  Boy do I spoil these dogs!

#61 - Spend more time outside & #97 - dog park (9/33)

#61 - I think I've hit this nail on the head.  With all the walks at the dog park, yard work, hot tub time, running, sand volleyball, softball, RR Express games and various other activities I've been outside quite a bit!  I even have the tank-top lines (eerrrr burn marks) to prove it.  Mission accomplished!  That doesn't mean I'll stop either.  I love the outdoors.  Next up, a camping trip (hopefully soon)!

#97 - Sunday was perfect weather!  Mid 70's with a slight breeze.  I took the dogs out to Emma Long again for their much anticipated dog walk.  Plus with all the recent rain the creek was full so Guinness and Sarah squeezed in some water time as well.  Guinness is like a giant water rat when he's swimming, it's so funny!

The energizer bunny...keeps going and going...

It was yet another busy week.

Wednesday I went to HH at Trudy's for a friend’s birthday.  It was quite an interesting night.  One of my friends ended up accidentally tackling me out on the patio at Trudy's.  She was trying to get into one of the pictures and apparently just couldn't stop and totally took me out.  LOL, it was very funny to say the least...we did walk away with a couple bruises though.  Then we all went to Dallas Nite Club…I think I was the only one dancing while they were all doing shots.  ;)

Thursday I went to the movies and saw 21.  I thought it was pretty good.  I was starving though afterwards and had to make an Arby's stop on the way home.  The nice thing about it being 10pm was that it was closing time and we got a lot of free food.  This is always a plus for me.  :D

Friday I replaced the broken mirror on my car.  That's right!  I did it all by myself.  Car maintenance extraordinaire!    Then of course I went to HH with some co-workers and then danced like crazy at Grahams.

Saturday I went to Sam's Boat with some friends and ate crawfish and oysters all day long.  We were there from noon-8pm!  I came home exhausted and decided to relax in the hot tub.  There must have been something going on at the Dell Diamond because they had a really nice fireworks display going on that I was able to enjoy from the comforts of my own home/hot tub.  :D

Sunday
#97 - Take dogs to dog park (8/33).  The past two weekends I wasn't able to make it out to the dog park, and I could tell Guinness and Sarah were becoming more and more restless.  So after my 3 mile run around Town Lake Sunday morning, I took the dogs out to Emma Long Park for their favorite hike.  It was fairly warm out on Sunday too so the dogs kept jumping in the water.  They are so cute when they swim...but watch out when they decide to shake off all the water!  Afterwards, Monica and I went to get a pedicure, which was much needed.  Afterwards I saw Leatherheads at the Alamo Draft House.  I actually really liked that movie, wasn't sure if I would or not.

Monday
#15 - Cook home meal(s) a week (16/143).  Well, I failed on this the past two weeks.  So last night I was determined to cook.  I made an awesome pasta meal with fresh green peppers, onions, garlic, jalapeno bacon, sundried tomatoes, sundried tomato alfredo sauce and parmesan cheese.  It turned out awesome!  Of course I used practically every pot and pan I had in the house to cook all the separate ingredients...and they are still sitting in my kitchen sink waiting to be washed.  I made at least a pound of pasta, so I'll have leftovers the rest of the week!  Around 8pm I headed over to Hanover’s to play some sand volleyball.  I haven't played sand volleyball in ages!  I think we played for about an hour, it was a lot of fun and I got a great work out!
